The revival of Four Winds Farm is the result of abundant collaboration between the Holmes and Monahon families of Peterborough. Ruth and Dan Holmes and Carrie and Bryn Dumas, with the help of Savannah Steele have spent the last several years developing plans that will allow Four Winds Farm, which has been used for agricultural and recreational purposes for most of the past three hundred years, to continue to exist as a working farm.
Four Winds is an important part of Peterborough’s cultural and Agricultural history. With your help we plan to renovate and update the existing ‘Apple Barn’ to house a working dairy, cheese room, farm store and farm kitchen for processing our own products right on the farm. Sunnyfield Farm has housed one of the few operating dairy barns in our region for the past twelve years, due to circumstances beyond our control the use of this space is no longer an option for us.
Please join us in our effort to continue to supply Peterborough and the greater Monadnock area with great quality, grass fed and delicious milk, and other products from our humanely raised, happy farm animals.
145 Four Winds Farm Road · Peterborough, NH 03458 · (603)731-5153
Dan and Ruth have been providing the greater Peterborough community with grass fed milk, meat, and eggs for the past twelve years. We would like to continue to provide great quality food to our community but in order to do so we need your help! Through a combination of personal investment, bank loans and community generosity we hope to continue to provide our patrons with the very best quality locally raised products.
There is much work to be done! We need water and septic at the existing barn, we need electricity and significant renovation in the barn. Once the infrastructure is there we will focus our attention on building out a new dairy and cheese room, a commercial farm kitchen for value added products and a new farm store. Later we will add a children’s play area and space for families to interact with farm animals, more fruit trees and berries and we will be expanding our produce offerings. We will also be working to expand our existing trail system so that visitors will have ample opportunity to check out the beautiful woods and grounds surrounding the farm.
Four Winds will be a place where families and children will be welcome, you will be able to see farm animals living in a natural and healthy environment, you will be able to get everything you need for dinner and more in our farm store. It will truly be a community farm where all will be welcome.
